FEAR FACTOR LIVE OVERVIEW
UNIVERSAL STUDIOS GUESTS FACE
THEIR FEARS WITH THRILLING NEW FEAR FACTOR LIVE ATTRACTION
- New June 2005
Blockbuster Reality Television
Show Becomes First-of-Its-Kind Theme Park Attraction
ORLANDO, Fla Guests at Universal Studios theme
parks get to test their courage and strength as they perform pulse-pounding
stunts in the new Fear Factor Live show, which opened at
Universal Orlando June 3, 2005.
Based upon the award-winning NBC program Fear Factor, Fear
Factor Live marks the first time a reality television show has been
transformed into a theme park experience. It is also the first NBC television
product to be fully integrated into Universals theme parks.

Audience members experience the thrill of the blockbuster series in
a way they could not before: live. In each show, park guests compete
against each other in a progression of extreme stunts. The stunts have
been developed with help from Fear Factors creators and are designed
to test the physical and emotional limits of each contestant.
Imagine drinking a smoothie made of blended worms, crickets, sauerkraut,
sardines, octopus and fish; or swinging high in the air on a harness
while tossing slimy squid to a partner; or fishing with your bare hands
through a tank of live eels; or having a bucket of squirming, slithering
snakes dumped onto your head. Fear Factor Live contestants do this and
more.
Members of the audience play an interactive role by blasting contestants
with water and air and controlling obstacles on stage. In addition,
audience members can spin the Wheel of Fear and confront
their own phobias.
The odds are more in your favor for getting into Harvard than
being chosen to appear on Fear Factor," said the shows executive
producer, Matt Kunitz. With Fear Factor Live, people now have
the chance to participate in some of the same stunts weve done
on the show.

With the attraction opening at both Universal Orlando and Universal
Studios Hollywood, Universal Parks & Resorts continues to build
upon the merger of NBC and Universal Studios, integrating the entertainment
content of the new company.
