ORLANDO, FLORIDA (June 30, 2004)— This Labor Day weekend, Universal Orlando Resort will sponsor the biggest singles event ever – a first-of-its-kind weekend designed to offer singles a chance to have fun and meet each other in an entirely new setting.

U-Nite Florida will offer the best of Universal Orlando—along with specially themed, all-inclusive events including martini parties, exclusive party zones throughout the theme parks and what will be the largest number of HurryDate speed-dating sessions ever held in one place.

Beginning Friday, September 3 and running through Monday, September 6, U-Nite Florida will give singles the chance to explore Universal’s world-class theme parks, stay and play at its on-site resorts, socialize at its night-time entertainment complex and meet other singles at specially planned evening parties and events.

Throughout the weekend, Universal Orlando will transform itself into a premiere singles’ social event with trendy, exclusive, after-hour parties and mixers throughout CityWalk, its 30-acre entertainment complex, and its two theme parks, Universal Studios, and Islands of Adventure. Singles will also be able to enjoy a variety of organized activities and excursions including golf, day-trips to Florida beaches, spa treatments, jogging through the theme parks, dancing lessons and wine-tasting seminars.

“We want to give single travelers the chance to have fun and meet new people in an environment that provides entertainment experiences unlike any other in the world,” said Al Callier, vice president of Brand and Interactive Marketing for Universal Orlando.  “U-Nite Florida is perfectly customized for our single guests who either want a weekend getaway or the chance to meet other people – or both.”

The parties will give Universal Orlando the opportunity to do what it does best – create exhilarating entertainment experiences.  Themes for the parties will include hip New York nightclub settings, sultry South Beach soirees with outdoor couches and salsa dancing, and futuristic discos featuring dynamic light shows and chic martini bars.
